It is very important to know your homonyms. If you don't, you may get on a game show and somebody will expect you to know some. Just... what happens when you don't know any? You lose the show. You're loved ones leave. You'll sell your house.
And eventually, you'll die in rags after a hard life in your squid's back yard.
So how can we avoid this terrible tragedy? What could we possibly do to prevent dying in your squid's backyard!? The answer is simple, friend, as long as you can remember a couple of specific and occasionally confusing words. You know your homonyms! If you know a couple, I can guarantee you will be the most respected person on earth. So memorize a few from the list before you hit the road, because fame and fortune is headed your way!
What, exactly, is a homonym? Is that what you're asking? No? Well, homonyms are two or more words that are pronounced the same but with different meanings. So take tulle tool. Tulle and tool are pronounced the same way, but one is a fabric and one is something you use to do other things. There is a difference, but they are also similar because of the way you say them.
If you're thinking "yeah, right, this is just another one of Rileysan's stupid blog posts and is in no way relevant or applicable to my life. It's only there to annoy me," then you are right about the stupid part, but wrong about the rest. This post is here to inform the public about another quirk in the English language and what we can do to prevent the serious problem of your squid's backyard.
